The Spurs have played without the key midfielder since January.

Tottenham have confirmed Oliver Skipp will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery.

Skipp had managed to develop himself into a key player in Antonio Conte’s squad before his injury. He signed a new contract with the Spurs until July 2027 last week, with Conte hoping he will be back soon.

However, on Tuesday, Tottenham announced the English midfielder has undergone surgery and will not return to action this season.

The club’s announcement reads: “We can confirm that Oliver Skipp has undergone surgery in America this morning (Tuesday 26 April) to repair a pubis injury and will be out for the remainder of the season.

“The academy graduate, 21, will now undergo a period of recovery. He is expected to return to training for the pre-season period.”

Having spent the last season at Norwich, Skipp returned to Tottenham in the summer. The English star soon became a regular first-time player under Conte, making 28 appearances across all competitions.

Skipp’s injury will be a blow to Tottenham’s efforts to secure a Champions League spot for the next season. The Spurs have suffered a sudden dip in form in the past two weeks, letting Arsenal leapfrog them from the fourth spot.
