Spurs are in the hunt for a new manager ahead of next season and have reportedly approached a reputable name in Spain.

Tottenham have made contact with the representatives of Athletic Bilbao boss Marcelino as they continue their search for a permanent replacement for Jose Mourinho, as per The Athletic.

Marcelino has a good reputation in Spain, having spent his entire coaching career in his homeland managing the likes of Sevilla, Villarreal, and Valencia.

He joined Bilbao earlier this year and quickly guided the club to Supercopa de Espana glory, beating FC Barcelona in the finals.

Ryan Mason has been appointed as the interim Tottenham manager after Jose Mourinho was relieved of his duties on Monday morning.

Mourinho’s dismissal came after a series of disappointing results that saw Spurs fall down to seventh in the Premier League standings. Also, they were dumped out of the Europa League last month after an embarrassing defeat to Dinamo Zagreb.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is looking to find a permanent replacement for Mourinho ahead of next season.

RB Leipzig head coach Julian Nagelsmann and former Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri are also reportedly in contention for the Tottenham job.
