The Spurs are keen to bolster their defensive line with a new signing.

Tottenham have reportedly contacted Inter over a possible move for Denzel Dumfries.

Dumfries is currently on international duty with Netherlands, where he continues his key role in Oranje’s lineup.

The right-back’s solid performances seem to have convinced Tottenham to accelerate their efforts to sign him.

According to 90min, Tottenham is considering Dumfries as their top-priority target for the right-back spot.

Tottenham wingbacks Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty are both linked with moves away from north London. Another option is Djed Spence, who will most likely leave the club on a loan deal in January.

The Spurs have a good chance of finalizing a deal for Dumfries due to Inter’s financial issues. Widespread reports in Italian media claim the Nerazzurri are hoping to offload the Dutchman this winter but loan him back until the end of the season.

Tottenham will reportedly push to add Dumfries to their squad this January. However, they might face competition from city rivals Chelsea.

Dumfries’ solid performances in the World Cup might also contribute to raising his price. The Inter star is in Netherlands’ starting lineup for their final group-stage match against Qatar today.
