A new forward joins the Spurs after their failed bid to sign Leandro Trossard.

Tottenham have reportedly reached an agreement with Villarreal to sign Arnaut Danjuma on a loan deal.

Danjuma already had an agreement in place with Everton. The player even passed his medical check at Goodison Park, but Tottenham made a late effort to hijack his move.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Spurs managed to complete Danjuma’s move within a few hours.

The Sky Sports journalist claims Danjuma had a photoshoot at Everton ahead of his then-imminent move to the club. But Tottenham’s offer changed his mind.

The Netherlands international joins Spurs on a loan deal. But it’s not clear whether the English giants have secured a buy option in his contract.

The move comes after Tottenham failed to sign Leandro Trossard from Brighton. The Belgian star moved to Arsenal after the Gunners hijacked his move with a late offer.

Danjuma’s transfer ends speculations over Nicolo Zaniolo’s possible move to London. The Roma striker was among the main Tottenham targets for the winter. But it seems the club have delayed a move for him at least until the next summer.

Danjuma could make his debut for the Spurs when they take on Preston in the FA Cup this weekend. Antonio Conte’s men will then return to the Premier League to host Manchester City on February 5.
