The Spurs boss informs two of his players will be unavailable for selection for the team’s first game after the international break.
Harry Winks and Erik Lamela have been ruled out of Tottenham trip to Manchester City on Saturday.
Winks, who featured heavily in England’s November fixtures against the Republic of Ireland, Belgium, and Iceland, reportedly returned from international duty with a minor issue.
Lamela, meanwhile, sat out the 1-0 win over West Brom due to a foot problem and still hasn’t fully recovered.
Jose Mourinho confirmed on Friday that the duo will play no part in Spurs’ return to the Premier League after the international break.
“Training session is 3 pm, players will report after 1.30 pm. [I am] waiting for a couple of news and decisions. Couple of players didn’t see them yet coming back from the national team,” Mourinho said during his press conference, via Football London.
“Winks arrived with little problem. Lamela is still on the last period of recovery. Apart from that no problems.”
Steven Bergwijn returned home from international duty after he was deemed unfit to play but he is now ready for action for Spurs.
A victory on Saturday would see Tottenham stretch their unbeaten run to eight in the Premier League, with the team currently occupying the second place with 17 points.
