The Spurs have added a new Serie A star to their ranks under Antonio Conte.

Tottenham have completed the signing of Ivan Perisic, who joins the club as a free agent.

The Croatian star sees his current contract at Inter expire on June 30. The Spurs have tied the winger down to a two-year contract, making him their first signing this summer.

A statement from the club reads: “The vastly experienced Croatia international will join the Club on July 1 following the expiration of his contract at Inter and has agreed a deal that will run until 2024.”

Perisic played a key role in Inter’s Scudetto winning campaign of 2020-21 under Antonio Conte. The veteran midfielder leaves San Siro after making 254 appearances for the Nerazzurri.

“It’s a privilege to work with a coach like this,” Perisic said of Conte. “We did well in Inter, we won the league after 10 or 11 years. It was a perfect year and I’m really happy to see him again.

“He’s living football, every minute, every hour, every day. Even when he’s sleeping he’s thinking about football. I like his character and I know we’re going to do a great job here.”

According to reports from Italian outlets, Spurs are now eyeing Perisic’s Inter teammate, Alessandro Bastoni, as their next transfer target.
