Antonio Conte’s men start the season with a brilliant home win over the Saints.

Tottenham defeated Southampton 4-1 in their first game of the 2022-23 Premier League season. Following a busy transfer window, the Spurs find a perfect start to their new league campaign.

Tottenham took control of the possession early on, forcing Southampton to stay in their own half.

The Spurs were already pushing for the opener when James Ward-Prowse put the guests ahead 1-0. Following a few missed chances, Ryan Sessegnon opened the scoring for the Spurs in the 21st minute.

However, Tottenham turned the table until the half-time whistle, getting ahead through Ryan Sessegnon and Eric Dier’s goals.

Harry Kane missed a chance to score his first Premier League goal of the season just before the half-time whistle. However, his side looked even better after the second period.

An own goal from Mohammed Salisu doubled Tottenham’s lead before Dejan Kulusevski sealed Spurs’ lead with a left-footed shot inside the box.

Kane and Son Heung-Min didn’t find the back of the net in Tottenham’s league opener. But it’s unlikely to bother Spurs fans, who will look forward to their team’s upcoming match against Chelsea with immense optimism.
