Tottenham Stadium was the place where Dynamo Zagreb visited the Spurs in the Europa League’s last 16. We got player ratings.

Tottenham Hotspur began their round of 16 journey tonight against Dynamo Zagreb at their own North London Stadium. The Spurs have been improving in terms of results and level of performance over the last month. With Gareth Bale apparently back to his best form, he can now be considered part of an impressive offensive line for Spurs. But today he didn’t start the game as Mourinho decided to give Harry Kane more minutes. Other players who don’t play on the regular were able to showcase their skills against Dynamo Zagreb.

One of them is Erik Lamela, who created a beautiful individual effort that gave Kane the chance to score the opening goal. Even though he had an angle to strike the ball with his right foot, the Argentine didn’t dare to do it. Regardless of this limitation, his shot still hit the post and allowed Kane to score. The Spurs went to the dressing room with a feeling they were superior to their counterpart.

Kena seals the win with a brace.

After the break, Jose Mourinho decided to use several players from the bench that included the likes of Gareth Bale or Lucas Moura. However, Harry Kane was the one who scored Tottenham’s second goal after a brilliant individual effort inside the box. Dynamo managed to block more attempts from going inside the goal, which angered Jose Mourinho.

The gaffer wanted an even greater advantage because he knows how difficult the away match can become next week. Despite winning, the manager wasn’t all that happy with the final result because he expects to suffer in Zagreb. Kane had to leave the pitch with a knock on his left knee, but it didn’t look too serious at first glance. In other results, clubs like Arsenal or AS Roma also won their respective matches. Feel free to take a look at the results down below.
