Man City reached the FA Cup’s fifth round after a hard-fought victory in London.

Manchester City defeated Tottenham 1-0 in their FA Cup clash on Friday. A late winner from Nathan Ake secured City’s place in the tournament’s fifth round.

What happened?

City’s excellent start to the game nearly resulted in an early opener, but Oscar Bobb’s goal was ruled out for offside. The Citizens built on their dominance as the first half went on, while Tottenham also made a few serious counter-attacking chances. Neither side, however, managed to break the deadlock before the break.

Spurs came the closest to scoring the opener in the 54th minute, but Timo Werner’s shot was stopped by a brilliant save from Stefan Ortega. City then kept their opponents under pressure but had to wait until the 88th minute to break the deadlock.

A corner from Kevin De Bruyne was poorly cleared by Guglielmo Vicario, who was under pressure from Ruben Dias. Nathan Ake then tapped the ball home with a well-timed touch to win the game for the Citizens.

Tottenham vs Man City: Man of the Match

Kyle Walker deserves the Man of the Match title for his excellent display against Spurs. In addition to his defensive impact, Walker constantly threatened Tottenham’s backline with his progressive passes and unexpected runs.
