Ferran Torres was presented for the first time in front of the Barcelona crowd at Camp Nou on Monday after his big switch from Man City.

Ferran Torres has declared that he feels ready to bring Barcelona back to their standards following his transfer from Manchester City last week.

The 21-year-old has agreed to a five-and-a-half-year deal worth £46.7 million which includes further add-ons of £8.5 million.

And the most attractive thing is that the Catalan club has set a ginormous release clause of one billion euros. However, Torres does not want his focus to shift from what he feels is required for Barca at the moment.

After his unveiling at Camp Nou on Monday, Torres said: “I am facing this challenge with ambition, humility. And a lot of desire.”

“When I left Manchester City I had the idea of coming back to LaLiga and Barca showed an interest. I am an ambitious player and I like a challenge. I want to take Barca back to where it belongs.”

Regardless of his new acquired stardom at Barcelona, Torres keeps his heart with Pep Guardiola and Manchester City for all that they have done for him.

The youngster told Barca’s official website: “(City boss Pep) Guardiola is one of the best in the world. And he played me in different positions.”

“I have learnt a lot from him at Manchester City and will take many nice memories of my time there.

“I can play across various positions and I will adapt well. And will play in the position that the (Barca) coach says, it does not matter to me which one he asks.”

Nevertheless, it is expected that Torres will make his beginning with Barca at the Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Real Madrid on January 12.
