As the season nears its end, relegation looms for several clubs.
But while their teams may be going down, some standout players deserve a chance to stay at the top level. Here are six relegation-threatened stars who should be on every top club’s radar this summer.
6. Matheus Cunha (Wolves)
Wolves have distanced themselves from the relegation battle, but with games against Spurs, United, and City still to come, they aren’t safe yet. If they do go down, Cunha should be the first player to leave. With 13 goals this season—many against top teams—he has been Wolves’ main attacking force. Even if they survive, he’s too good to stay.
5. Facundo Buonanotte (Leicester City)
Leicester’s relegation battle has overshadowed Buonanotte’s promising season. The 20-year-old Argentine is a dynamic attacking midfielder who has produced five goals and three assists across all competitions. His ability to play multiple attacking roles makes him an attractive option for top clubs.
4. Alberto Moleiro (Las Palmas)
Las Palmas are on the brink of relegation, which means their midfield maestro could be available. Dubbed “the next Pedri,” Moleiro is a creative and technically gifted playmaker who can operate in multiple positions. At just 21, he has the potential to shine at a much higher level.
3. Aaron Ramsdale (Southampton)
Ramsdale isn’t facing relegation, but his Arsenal career certainly is. After being replaced as the Gunners’ No. 1, he could be on the move this summer. Despite limited game time, he remains a top-class shot-stopper and has made some of the most saves in the league. Chelsea or Manchester United could benefit from his experience and quality.
2. Hugo Duro (Valencia)
If Valencia go down, Duro will be one of their most sought-after players. The 25-year-old forward has been a consistent performer, scoring 13 goals last season and adding another seven this term despite playing in a struggling team. He could be a valuable squad player for any top European side.
1. Liam Delap (Ipswich Town)
Delap has been one of the breakout stars of the season, and Ipswich’s likely relegation won’t stop him from securing a move. A powerful, skillful striker with a knack for scoring in big games, he has already reached double digits for goals this season. His ability to perform in a struggling side suggests he would thrive in a team that creates more chances.
