The relegated clubs go into the summer transfer window with the risk of losing some of their best players.

Another Premier League campaign ended with a nail-biting relegation battle that saw Southampton, Leeds United, and Leicester City losing their spots in the next season’s English top flight.

Let’s check out five relegated stars that could be available for cut-price fees in the upcoming summer transfer window.

5- Tyler Adams

Adams started the 2022-23 season with impressive form, earning a place in the USA’s World Cup squad. However, injury problems kept him out of a host of crucial games toward the end of the campaign.

According to Football Insider, Adams has emerged as a possible option for Manchester United. The Red Devils could reportedly sign the USMNT star for around £35m ahead of the next season.

4- Youri Tielemans

Tielemans is one of the relegated players that will most certainly change clubs this summer. The Belgium international is already one of the transfer window’s most-talked-about free agents.

Liverpool and Arsenal have expressed interest in signing Tielemans, but a move to another league is also on the table for the 26-year-old.

3- Willy Gnonto

Following his breakthrough under Roberto Mancini at Italy, Gnonto secured a move to Elland Road with hopes of getting playing time in the Premier League. The 19-year-old made 24 appearances for Leeds. But the club’s relegation will most likely see Gnonto join a new EPL side.

According to Calcio Mercato, both Arsenal and Manchester City are in the race to sign the £26m-rated winger.

2- James Ward-Prowse

Ward-Prowse has been a cornerstone of Southampton’s midfield line since making his senior debut in 2012. But at 28 years old, he might decide to leave the relegated Saints.

The free-kick specialist has attracted interest from a number of clubs since earning his first England call-up last year. As of now, West Ham appear to lead the race for Ward-Prowse, who could replace Declan Rice in the Hammers’ midfield unit.

1- James Maddison

Maddison was among the best Leicester City players last season. The England international stayed consistent throughout the campaign but couldn’t save the Foxes from relegation.

Having registered ten goals and nine assists during the 2022-23 campaign, Maddison has been heavily linked with a summer move to a top club.

As Maddison’s long-time admirers, Arsenal lead the race for his signature. However, Tottenham and Newcastle have also shown interest in a move for the 26-year-old.
