As the days keep going by at Chelsea FC, Timo Werner tipped one of his teammates to reach the elite level before the end of the season.
Timo Werner has many amazing teammates to choose from at Chelsea when it comes to a productive partnership. The German striker hit the ground running after he arrived from RB Leipzig, scoring important goals and delivering classy performances. However, not all of the new transfers are doing as well as he is. One of his teammates is also his compatriot.
We are talking about Kai Havertz, who isn’t exactly having the best start of his career with the Blues. If he does get to the level we expect from him, the German playmaker can easily become one of the best players in the world. Timo Werner knows him from the German youth categories and they both struck a friendship that has lasted for years. As the team’s main striker, Werner is not worried about Havertz’s progression because he knows how talented he can be for Chelsea.
Werner thinks Havertz is already waking up.
It’s not as if Kai Havertz wasn’t playing good football already. The German forward already left a few signs of his quality in the few matches he’s played. However, the Blues did pay a hefty amount for him and they expect much more than what he’s shown so far. Werner insisted he isn’t even worried about Havertz on Sky Sports.
“In a lot of games he has shown what he can do, what he can bring to the team. For Kai it is very important to score, but I think what you can see in his game he is a lot more than scoring goals as a midfield player.
“He plays a lot of key passes, makes a lot of movement for other players. I think he is very talented and feels good. We trust he will get better and better, like me he has come to a new country, language and style of football and has to learn. But until now he plays very good and we will see a lot more good games from him.”
