Costa close to making Brazil coemback

Diego Costa has reached a verbal agreement with Atletico Mineiro to join the club, according to Goal.

The striker, who has been a free agent since leaving Atletico Madrid in December 2020, has agreed to sign a one-year contract worth around $3 million with the Brazilian side.

Real Madrid are weighing up a move for Antonio Rudiger, reports Sky Sports.

The La Liga giants lost both their starting center-backs – Sergio Ramos & Raphael Varane – in this transfer window, and could sign the Chelsea man as a long-term solution at the heart of their defense.

Rudiger will be free to hold discussions with other clubs over a possible transfer from January, with his current contract due to expire after this season.

Leicester set to sign Vestergaard

Leicester have had an offer worth £15 million accepted by Southampton for Jannik Vestergaard, per The Telegraph.

Vestergaard, 29, will join Brendan Rodgers’ squad as an immediate fill-in for Wesley Fofana, who will remain out injured until next year due to a leg injury.

Lazio are understood to be in advanced negotiations with Arsenal to sign Lucas Torreira.

The Uruguayan midfielder is highly rated by the Lazio management, with the club’s sporting director following the player since his Sampdoria days.
