Real Madrid plot a move for Karim Benzema successor
PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo is a potential transfer target for Real Madrid.
The Spanish and European champions view Gakpo as a possible successor to Karim Benzema, 34. The 23-year-old has been in excellent form this season, capturing the interest of Manchester United.
Gakpo, who is contracted at PSV until 2026, has managed 13 goals and 17 assists in 24 appearances across all club competitions. The winger also scored three times at the World Cup for the Netherlands. [AS – in Spanish]

Manchester United will enquire about Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos’ availability for a transfer in January.
The 21-year-old made his mark recently by scoring a hat-trick for Portugal at the World Cup against Switzerland. His contract at Benfica runs until 2026. [ESPN]

Barcelona keep tabs on Kante
Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is on Barcelona’s list of potential free transfer targets.
The 31-year-old France international is out of contract at the end of the season. Barcelona are keeping tabs on his situation. The LaLiga club may present him with a formal pre-contract offer in January for the 2023/24 campaign.

Fulham want Soares from Arsenal
Arsenal right-back Cedric Soares is a target for Fulham ahead of the January transfer window.

Nubel might be on his way back to Bayern
Bayern Munich are in talks with AS Monaco about ending Alexander Nubel’s loan deal early.
The Bundesliga leaders would prefer the 26-year-old goalkeeper back from France rather than sign another player to replace the injured Manuel Neuer, who will miss the rest of the season. [Sky Sport – in German]
