Lucas Torreira does not intend to return to his parent club Arsenal after the completion of his season-long loan spell at Atletico Madrid. Despite signing for them only this month, the Uruguay midfielder feels home at Wanda Metropolitano and wants a permanent stay. [Ovacion Digital]

Barcelona hand four new contracts.

Goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, midfielder Frenkie de Jong and defender, and defenders Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet have all signed contract extension with FC Barcelona.

Pique’s new contract includes a €500 million buyout clause and runs through to June 2024. Ter Stegen is tied to the club until 2025, with an identical release clause as his vice-captain. De Jong and Lenglet, meanwhile, will remain at Barca until June 2026 clause and have clause set at €400 million and €300 million respectively. [Official club website]

Dortmund’s failed attempt to land Eriksen revealed.

Borussia Dortmund knocked on the doors of Inter Milan several times during the summer transfer window regarding a possible transfer for Christian Eriksen. The Bundesliga side made loan offers which Inter were not at all interested in. [Calciomercato]

Pep wants Garcia to stay put at Man City.

Pep Guardiola is hoping that he can ‘seduce’ Eric Garcia into remaining at the Etihad after handing him a start in Manchester City’s Champions League opener on Wednesday.

Having entered the final year of his contract, the Spanish defender is keen on joining FC Barcelona on a free transfer the next summer and has made his intentions known to his club. [Goal]

Juve and PSG circling for Ramos.

Sergio Ramos is in the final year of his contract at Real Madrid, and both Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are looking to land the superstar.

Fernandes could make early Benfica return.
