Cucurella alternative revealed for Man City

If Manchester City can’t sign Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella, they will consider Benfica’s Alejandro Grimaldo.

Cucurella is still very much the priority for City, but Brighton’s €58 million asking price is a problem. The Premier League champions have only offered €35 million at this stage. Therefore, they may start to consider transfer alternatives like Grimaldo instead. [Marca – In Spanish]

Ter Stegen could leave Barcelona if De Jong doesn’t

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen could leave if the club cannot sell midfielder Frenkie de Jong in the transfer market.

To control their wage structure, Barcelona are looking at offloading some high earners. The primary target is De Jong. But while the Dutchman has stirred interest from Manchester United and Chelsea, he would prefer to stay at Camp Nou. This may cause Barca to transfer Ter Stegen instead. The 30-year-old German earns a reported €7 million per season and is contracted to have a salary increase next season. [Cadena Ser – in Spanish]
