Chelsea eye shock move for ex-Arsenal captain

Former Arsenal captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has emerged as a potential transfer target for Chelsea. Talks between the player and club are already underway.

That said, Chelsea have made no bid to Aubameyang’s current club Barcelona at this stage. The striker previously played under Blues manager Thomas Tuchel at Borussia Dortmund. He boasts a strong record in the Premier League, having scored 68 goals in 128 games for Arsenal, and won the Golden Boot in 2018/19. [Fabrizio Romano]

PSG set to rival Barcelona for Silva

Paris Saint-Germain might challenge Barcelona for the signature of Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva.

The 27-year-old Portuguese could be available for a summer transfer at around €85 million. PSG, with their new sporting director Luis Campos, are confident they can do a deal. Silva previously played in Ligue 1 for AS Monaco from 2014 until 2017. [Foot Mercato – in French]

Wolves bid for South Korean star rejected

Bordeaux have rejected an offer from Wolverhampton Wanderers for striker Hwang Ui-Jo.

The 29-year-old South Korean contributed to 15 goals in 36 league starts last season. Bordeaux are open to a transfer, but only at the right price. The Ligue 2 club seek more than the €3 million proposed by Wolves. [L’Equipe – in French]

Man Utd discuss Sesko transfer with Salzburg

Manchester United have held initial talks with RB Salzburg about a potential deal for striker Benjamin Sesko.

As the 19-year-old Slovenian is under contract until 2026, Salzburg are under no pressure to sell. There is an apparent ‘gap in valuation’ between the Austrian club and United, suggesting the likelihood of the sides agreeing on a transfer fee won’t be done anytime soon. [Sky Sports]
