Chelsea chasing Juve’s De Ligt

Thomas Tuchel is keen on further bolstering his backline despite the abundance of quality defensive options at his disposal at Chelsea.

The Blues, who tried to sign Jules Kounde from Sevilla over the summer and failed, therefore, have made Matthijs de Ligt a top-priority signing.

De Ligt reportedly has a €120 million release clause on his Juventus contract that will come into play after this season.

Chelsea could trigger that release clause as they are ‘very interested’ in the 22-year-old center-back, who also may want to exit Juve considering their recent decline. [Mirror]

Lacazette approaching Arsenal exit

Alexandre Lacazette’s Arsenal career appears to be close to running its course.

The French forward is not expected to renew with the club after discussions of a contract extension between the two parties did not go well, according to Le10 Sport.

Atletico Madrid is being touted as a possible next destination for the 30-year-old, who will be out of contract at the end of the season.

Barca initiate renewal talks with Dembele

FC Barcelona have held a meeting with Ousmane Dembele’s representatives to discuss a new contract for the player, reports El Partidazo de COPE.

The 24-year-old winger’s current deal expires at the end of the season, and the Catalan club intend to tie him down to fresh terms before January so as to prevent him from talking with other clubs over a possible transfer in the summer.
