Barca to swoop Buffon for free

FC Barcelona are looking to land Gianluigi Buffon on a free transfer this summer as a back-up to their No.1 Marc Andre ter Stegen.

The 43-year-old announced on Tuesday that he will leave Juventus upon the expiration of his contract after this season.

Buffon could join the Catalan club on a short-term contract and his arrival could be beneficial in the development of La Masia graduate goalkeepers Inaki Pena and Arnau Tenas. [Foot Mercato]

Romero Mourinho reunion at Roma?

Roma are among the clubs interested in signing out-of-sorts Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero.

Incoming Roma manager Jose Mourinho has had a healthy relationship with the Argentine during his time at Old Trafford and now wants to reunite with him at Stadio Olimpico.

Romero has been deprived of playing time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with the 34-year-old shot-stopper yet to make a single appearance this season. [The Telegraph]

Atleti eye Udinese star

Atletico Madrid are leading the chase of Rodrigo de Paul, who is also a transfer target for Serie A trio Juventus, AC Milan, and Napoli, reports Calcio Mercato.

Udinese value the 26-year-old midfielder, who has a contract until June 2024, at €50 million but Atletico are hoping to negotiate that price down to €40 million.

De Paul has scored nine goals and supplied 10 assists in 34 Serie A appearances so far this season.
