Wijnaldum agrees to join Barca.

Liverpool’s Georginio Wijnaldum is in advanced talks with FC Barcelona over a potential transfer. The Dutch midfielder has agreed to sign a three-year deal with the Spanish giants. The Catalans are now negotiating a transfer fee with the Premier League side and are hopeful of sealing the deal for up to €20 million.

Barca view Wijnaldum as a replacement for Ivan Rakitic, who joined Sevilla recently, and Arturo Vidal, who is reportedly set to join Inter Milan. [Sport]

Arsenal in talks for Aouar.

After making reinforcements in defense and attack, Arsenal are now focusing on strengthening their midfield. The club have held discussions with Olympique Lyon regarding a move for Houssem Aouar. Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey remains a transfer target while the Gunners are also closing in on a deal for Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos. [David Ornstein]

Doucoure poised to join Everton.

Everton have reached an agreement with Watford for the transfer of Abdoulaye Doucoure. The French midfielder will soon sign a four-year contract with the Toffees to complete his move, which is worth around €28 million (£25m). [BBC]

Wolves sign new promising defender.

Wolves have completed the signing of 21-year-old defender Toti Gomes from Liga Pro side Estoril Praia. The move was confirmed on Estoril Praia’s official website.

The left-back has reportedly signed a five-year deal with the Premier League team. It is expected that he will immediately be loaned out so as to continue his development process.

Roma keen on landing Smalling.
