Learn about the three electrifying players that Real Madrid may pursue this summer as potential replacements for the departing Karim Benzema.

Real Madrid captain Karim Benzema has had another fine campaign, scoring 31 goals in all competitions. The Frenchman took just 43 games to reach the mark. However, with his contract set to expire in the summer, he has chosen not to renew his deal and could now sign for Saudi Arabian champions Al-Ittihad. With this in mind, we’ll examine four potential replacements that Real Madrid could target.

Harry Kane

Harry Kane, a proven goalscorer, is a world-class talent who could exceed €100m in transfer cost. Tottenham aren’t easy negotiators. However, with Kane’s contract up in 2024, the club faces a difficult choice – sell the striker now or risk letting him walk out as a free agent next year.

Of course, Kane may favor staying in England over Real Madrid. There are plenty of reasons. Aside from home comforts, the England captain is yet to win the Premier League and is close to reaching a historic achievement: Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League record of 260 goals.

Roberto Firmino

Roberto Firmino will leave Liverpool at the end of his contract this summer. Barcelona are reportedly interested, but Real Madrid could throw their hat in the ring yet. After all, Firmino is available for nothing!

Aged 31, the attacker would bring valuable experience to Real Madrid. He is capable of playing the false nine role and knows Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes from their time together at the Brazilian national team.

Kai Havertz

If Real Madrid favor a longer-term solution, Kai Havertz could be their man. Carlo Ancelotti is an admirer of the 23-year-old’s. The manager has made him a top target, and more importantly, Chelsea are open to a sale.

This deal would be a cheaper option than Kane, and Havertz can play in several roles. He could replace Marco Asensio, who is set to join Paris Saint-Germain, playing wide of the central forward. He is a long-term option for the club, but it remains to be seen what role new Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino will give him at Stamford Bridge.
