A former associate of Luis Suarez’s explained how his client’s brotherly bond with Lionel Messi can influence their decisions on life after Barcelona.

It’s no secret that Messi and Suarez have become close friends since the latter joined Barcelona in 2014. Not only have the pair shared much success on the pitch, but they’ve even gone on holiday together with their families.

Ronald Koeman’s decision to omit Suarez from his plans at Barcelona this season was allegedly a turning point for Messi, as it led him to request an exit from Camp Nou shortly afterward.

Both players are now seemingly set to leave Catalonia altogether, with Alejandro Balbi explaining the bond shared between them.

The former associate of Suarez, who no longer has any ties to the striker, told TyC Sports: “Messi’s future will have an influence on Suarez’s because they are best friends, they get along on and off the pitch.

“There is a lot of brotherly love between Messi and Suarez, they are inseparable, always together.”

Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, and Manchester City are the rumored favorites to sign Messi should he indeed end his 20-year association with Barcelona.

Suarez, meanwhile, has also been linked with a move to PSG. Although former club Ajax remain the bookmakers’ favorites despite Marc Overmars admitting their chances were ‘slim’.

“The offers are raining down from all sides because he is a great goalscorer in world football,” Balbi said on Suarez’s future.

“There is a backdrop [to Barca’s decision] which is not wholly about sport. His family lives in Barcelona and this is not the typical case of most players who can up and leave. He will have to work it out with the family.”
