The way we decided to make this list is by taking each club’s collective success and the influence they had in the sport this year. We are certain you might already have an idea of the obvious winner but the rest of the list might surprise you. 5.- Sevilla FC
Led by Julen Lopetegui, Sevilla FC enlarged their legend in the UEFA Europa League as the all-time top winner of the competition. Despite not having a good year in the Spanish La Liga, they also qualified for the UEFA Champions League of the current season. They lost the UEFA Supercup against a powerful Bayern Munich but they still managed to become European champions.
4.- Juventus FC
Led by Cristiano Ronaldo on his second season at the club, Juventus conquered the Serie A title with relative ease. Despite not having the same luck in the Champions League, it’s safe to say that the Bianconeri was the best Italian club of 2020. Cristiano returned to his usual goal-scoring habits with his squad and together they aim to win all the titles they can in 2021.
3.- Paris Saint-Germain
The year 2020 was the one that confirmed PSG truly is a title contender in European football. Winning Ligue 1 is a given for the French giants but the prime objective was within their grasp last season. Led by two of the best footballers in the world (Neymar and Mbappe), Paris Saint-Germain proved they can compete against any club in the world. They lost that final but they remain close to finally winning the title.
2.- Liverpool FC
The year 2020 was the one for Liverpool. A club that after waiting for three decades, they finally got to win the first Premier League in their long history. Before this title, they had won 18 of the old league trophies but never the new one. After so much waiting, Jurgen Klopp was the man who led them to the promised land. Nobody objects to this statement after what happened in 2020: Liverpool FC is the best English club in the world.

We didn’t think we would ever see a club as dominant as 2009’s FC Barcelona led by Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, and Pep Guardiola. Then Hansi Flick came along and completely changed our perception of this. Although they didn’t get to win six trophies in a natural year, they have to be considered on the same level if they win the FIFA Club World Cup in February 2021. The way they dominated their opponents was beautiful to watch. Nobody will forget that 8-2 victory against FC Barcelona.
