After nearly a full season at the club, we have proof that Ronald Koeman has failed as FC Barcelona’s manager so far.

When Ronald Koeman first arrived at FC Barcelona, he knew what he was getting himself into. The general plan was to keep his job through the new president who was coming to fix several aspects of the squad. However, Koeman is not doing very well in that aspect thus far. Although he has done an acceptable job with the youngsters and in terms of results.

Koeman is still in that gray area where anything could happen for him. The Blaugrana are still within reach of getting some silverware next Saturday in the Copa del Rey final against Athletic Club Bilbao. They are also still very much alive in the Spanish La Liga, but Koeman still lacks a crucial aspect that any Barcelona coach should have. This is the reason we believe he is failing as a manager so far.

No wins against the top clubs.

Whether it’s in the Champions League, La Liga, or any important final under Koeman. Barcelona hasn’t won a single important match they played under the Dutch manager. Last Saturday’s defeat against Real Madrid was the second this season against Los Blancos. PSG made an example out of them and they also lost the Spanish Supercup final against Athletic Club Bilbao.

Without winning against the most important clubs, this Barcelona side doesn’t seem competitive at all. Granted, Koeman has done a fantastic job with the younger generations but that is never enough in such a massive club. We still don’t know if he will continue with the club next season but his numbers speak for themselves. Plus, complaining about the refs should be beneath him but he doesn’t seem to care about that.
