There’s a growing fear of the Milano Derby’s possible cancelation, we will give you all the details that might push this game from happening. 

The Milano Derby is amongst the most important football games of the season around the world. An Italian Serie A classic that has given us many nights to remember. It could get canceled for a specific reason this year. The ongoing global pandemic currently as six players recovering from COVID-19 and this puts the game at high risk.

Although Italian football might not be played with fans for the rest of the season, the games were expected to happen with no issues. However, the most recent incident between Juventus and Napoli gives everyone a new scary perspective of things. As more footballers start getting infected from the virus, the Italian football federation is monitoring every single situation.

As of right now, there’s no confirmation that the Milano Derby in San Siro will get canceled. The match is set to take place at Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milano, on October 17. Let us tell you the details of the situation, playing that game won’t be as easy as it sounds. 

Which players are infected of COVID-19? 

As of right now, there are six confirmed players with positive COVID-19 tests. Inter Milan has four of them with Milan Skriniar, Radja Nainggolan, Alessandro Bastoni, and Roberto Gagliardini. The Belgian midfielder is the most recent player who tested positive and is currently in isolation.

AC Milan has two players with the diagnosis. One of them is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the other one is Leo Duarte. None of the Rossoneri players have tested negative yet despite remaining positive since September 23. As far as we know, the game wouldn’t be postponed unless there’s a massive spread of the disease.
