When professional footballers do battle for their teams out on the pitch, not only do they serve their clubs and fans, but they also inspire thousands of people around the world… maybe even millions.
People from the same region as high-profile players take pride in sharing the same culture or home town. People from impoverished areas take heart from seeing players who have the same background fight for their dreams, reach the top flight in professional football and enjoy the trappings that come with it: if that player can do it, so can they!
Below is a look at what a day in the life of a Premiership footballer looks like, plus a look at some of the lives of the league’s biggest stars, and also a discussion of football slots.
Harder work than it seems
Being a Premier League footballer takes character and dedication to train and then give it their all on the pitch.
The alarm clock goes off early, around 6 am, and the footballer will eat breakfast and then make their way to the football ground. They may have a health and safety briefing before getting on with training around 10 am. This first session may be more intense as the coach looks to toughen the players up. It can include passing drills up until around 11.30 before stopping for a breather.
Around 12, the next training session begins. This time, there will be a short match and the coach may choose to focus on ball retention, an important part of the game, or some other aspect.
Following the game, around 1 pm, there will a post-training analysis before players stop training for the day and take some rest and a healthy lunch. Unfortunately for the footballer, they can’t just reach for a burger and chips, as much as they may or may not wish to. Often, a nutritionist and a personal chef will have had a hand in deciding what they can eat and/or in preparing their meals.
The lifestyles of some of the Premier League’s top footballers
Players in English football’s top flight play hard and earn big money for their services. So how do they like to live?
Cristiano Ronaldo
The Portuguese wonder, who returned to Manchester United from Juventus in a deal worth a maximum of €23 million, is renowned for his riches. The player signed for two years, with an option to extend for a further year, subject to international clearance.
But when he’s not playing, he can be enjoying his collection of cars, one which is worth more than £16 million. An £8.5 million Bugatti Centodieci, one of only 10 in the world, is the jewel in the collection crown. It’s also worth more than the home he bought when he first signed for Manchester United, which was a £3 million estate in Alderley Edge.
Marcus Rashford
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has an interesting lifestyle. He campaigned successfully for an extension of the free school meal voucher scheme for around 1.3 million meals and has also launched a book club for disadvantaged children.
Marcus is believed to have a net worth of around £66 million and earns a salary of over £10 million before anything else such as endorsements are taken into account. When not at the training ground, he can be spending time at his £1.5 million five-bedroom home in Wilmslow.
James Madison
Rather than taking to the online slots, Leicester City midfielder James Madison, who is rated at £50 million, likes to visit the casino from time to time. It’s been commented that the player is a big fan of poker and likes to take part in tournaments. He’s won as much as nearly £5,000 at the tables and has bagged £2,300 in a charity event. These charity winnings he donated to the Vichai Srivaddhanaprbha Foundation, the charity named after the club’s late chairman, who died in a helicopter crash in 2018.
Enjoying football slots
The mention of James Madison’s love of casinos leads nicely to the subject of slots, a leisure activity which you don’t have to be a professional footballer to enjoy, nor do you have to earn the riches of one to play.
Top Strike Championship
Top Strike Championship has a 94.99% return to player (RTP) and amazing game play. It’s a standard 20 payline game that has five reels but combines slots with football betting, making for a fascinating game.
The bonus games are also worth the investment in playing this game. Three or more trophies will reward you with 20 free spins and lead into the real bonus game, in which you if you predict the winner of three matches you progress to the knockout stages.
Football Star Deluxe
Football Star Deluxe is a high volatility game that has an RTP of 95.61%. Despite being harder to win, the game’s bonus features and customisation make it stand out. Super stacked wilds can land on reels three, four and five, but can grow to reel two as well. Players can trigger them randomly and land winning combinations. Landing three scatter symbols triggers a bonus of 12 spins, with each spin increasing the multiplier. You can also adjust the number of paylines and betting value.
Premiership footballers are role models who train hard and play hard, rewarding them with the riches to live a lavish lifestyle. They’ve proven that with graft and dedication anyone can achieve their dreams and enjoy success.
