Twitter has gone wild at Manchester City’s defeat to Lyon and the glaring miss by Raheem Sterling that may have cost them the game.
The footballing world is in shock as another giant has fallen at the hands of another member of “the farmers league.” Olympique Lyon joined fellow Ligue 1 side PSG in the Champions League semi-finals.
Kylian Mbappe was one of the first to take to social media to congratulate Lyon on their momentous achievement.
Letting the world know that Ligue 1 or “the Farmers League” as some like to refer to it was dominating Europe’s elite competition.
If that wasn’t enough, City’s monumental collapse has left the world of Twitter aghast.
United fans, neutrals and pundits alike couldn’t help but have a dig.
City fans are far from happy about what transpired either.
As for Raheem Sterling’s miss, this one has to go down as one of the all time great bloopers. Only problem is this one wasn’t behind the pub on a Sunday afternoon, this was for a place in the Champions League semi-finals.
Liverpool’s official Twitter account couldn’t help themselves. With a dig at City and of course former player Sterling.
