Just as an update on the Paul Pogba situation, we tell you all about the football clubs that could really afford his transfer this summer.

Paul Pogba is one of the low-key most interesting transfers that could potentially happen this summer but not all football clubs can afford him. At Manchester United, there’s been a level of incompetence from his managers because they aren’t able to use him at the full extent of his skills. But France is a different story with Didier Deschamps using the best Paul Pogba you’ll see. His performances with France at the Euros placed him as one of the top players in the entire tournament and he left the competition during the quarterfinal round.

Now that he is back at United with his teammates, Paul is feeling excited for the upcoming season. But there is a major issue with his future at the moment because his contract expires in June 2022. This means that if he doesn’t agree on a new contract with Man United, he could leave for free next season. The Red Devils simply can’t afford to let this happen. They either convince him to sign a new contract or they sell him this summer for a good amount of money.

Which clubs can actually afford Paul Pogba?

This is where things get interesting because Paul just upgraded his market value after his Euros’ performance with France. After this busy summer he had, any club that wants to sign him would have to pay at least €80 million. But most of the interested parties would rather wait a full year and then get him for free. This is the latest trend in Europe’s transfer windows due to the global pandemic. The clubs that could afford him are Real Madrid, Chelsea, PSG, and Manchester City.

But Pogba will likely go to a club that is outside of the Premier League out of respect for his current club. This leaves Los Blancos and the French giants as the top squads to possibly take his contract. After getting quizzed about the possibility, this is what Pochettino said via Goal: “You see the list of the players that we have at home, we have plenty of players. Half of the squad is at home. A few are on holiday. I think the performance was good, I am happy, and I don’t want to talk about names of players who are in other clubs.”
