However, it’s not just the established players who light up the league, sometimes, it’s the young guns who make a name for themselves. Here are the five youngest goalscorers in Serie A history:
5- Richmond Boakye (17y65d)
Ghanaian striker Richmond Boakye scored his first Serie A goal for Genoa against Lecce in April 2010, at the age of just 17 years and 65 days. Boakye would go on to play for some of Italy’s biggest clubs, including Juventus and Atalanta, but his career never reached the heights expected when he was younger.
4- Khouma Babacar (17y3d)
Senegalese striker Khouma Babacar became the fourth-youngest goalscorer in Serie A history when he netted for Fiorentina against Geona in March 2010. Babacar was just 17 years and 3 days old at the time, and his goal helped him to break into the first team at Fiorentina, where he would stay as a squad member until 2018.
3- Pietro Pellegri (16y72d)
The third-youngest goalscorer in Serie A history is Genoa’s Pietro Pellegri, who found the net against Roma in May 2017 at the age of just 16 years and 72 days. Pellegri’s goal made him an instant sensation, paving the way for his move to Monaco in 2018.
2- Gianni Rivera (16y67d)
Dubbed Italy’s “Golden Boy” by the media, Rivera started his career as a football prodigy in Alessandria in 1959. The teenage forward found the back of the net for his side in a 2-2 draw with Sampdoria, becoming the second-youngest goalscorers in the competition’s history.
Rivera went on to become an AC Milan legend, winning three Serie A titles and two European Cups with the Rossoneri. He was also a member of the Italian national team that won the Euro 1968 on home soil.

The youngest goalscorer in the Serie A history is Amedeo Amadei, who scored his first senior goal for Roma at the age of just 15 years and 283 days in May 1937.
Amadei helped Roma win their first-ever Scudetto in 1942, establishing his reputation as one of the club’s greatest legends. The former Italy international scored 101 goals in his 386 appereances for the Giallorossi.
