As Mbappe approaches the last year of his contract, three forwards have been shortlisted as potential replacements at PSG.

Paris Saint-Germain have shortlisted three possible replacements should Kylian Mbappe leave the club.

The 22-year-old’s future is in doubt as talks over an extension to his contract, which expires in 2022, have made little progress. He reportedly remains undecided on whether to commit to PSG.

Should Mbappe opt to leave France, he won’t be short of options as clubs from Spain, England, and Italy are all interested.

And it appears PSG are already working on a contingency plan.

According to Telefoot, the Parisians have labeled the following three players as potential replacements.

Mohamed Salah – Liverpool

Mohamed Salah is reportedly a top transfer candidate. PSG’s Qatari owners rate the free-scoring Liverpool man highly and allegedly contacted his representatives last month.

Salah, who is the Premier League’s joint-top scorer alongside Harry Kane, has another two years left on his Liverpool contract. He has previously refused to rule out a future move to La Liga.

Lionel Messi – FC Barcelona

To probably nobody’s surprise, Lionel Messi remains a target.

PSG sporting director Leonardo is keeping close tabs on Messi’s situation. The Argentine’s contract with Barcelona expires in the summer, but the return of Joan Laporta as the club’s president could prompt him to stay.

Messi has previously stated he won’t decide his future until the season is over and will hold talks with Laporta soon.

Harry Kane – Tottenham

Option No.3, and perhaps Mauricio Pochettino’s favorite, is Harry Kane.

The England captain is reportedly prepared to request a transfer from Tottenham in the summer if the club cannot qualify for the Champions League next season.

According to Telefoot, Pochettino is keen on a deal. The PSG boss, who previously coached Kane at Spurs, remains a big fan of his former star striker and would allegedly love to link up in Paris.
