The infamous ‘Bruised Banana’ kit had to be one of the worst ones ever made at Arsenal. Somehow, though, it ended up as an iconic template for Adidas. Rumour has it also inspired artists and fashion designers.
9. Coventry home (1992-94)

This was the jersey used by Coventry City on route to 15th and 11th-place finishes in the Premier League.
8. Manchester United away (1992-93)
Anything with ‘King’ Eric Cantona fronting it should be a big hit, right?
But even the flamboyant Frenchman couldn’t disguise this monstrosity. The giant club crest and strange black stripes looked ridiculous, proving that even Manchester United can’t pull off everything.
7. Middlesbrough away (1996/97)
28 Sep 1996: Emerson
Middlesbrough had an eventful 90s in opening the Riverside Stadium, promotion, relegation and cup finals all in one decade. Their home red shirts were pretty easy on the eyes as well.
But they went one step too far for the away kit in 1996/97.

Honestly, Ian Walker looks like he is in his pajamas – not a football kit!
5. Norwich home kit (1992-94)

When your kit has a nickname called ‘bird poo kit’ that’s usually a sign you should burn it ASAP. In Norwich’s case, they had it – so they flaunted it.
Funny thing is that the club wore it during one of the best periods in their history, which saw them finish third in the 1992/93 Premier League standings and beat Bayern Munich in Europe.

Chelsea had a bit of an unfortunate reputation for terrible away kits, starting with this one.
The yellow stripes and grey top made for a weird combo that even Mark Hughes couldn’t cover-up.
3. Liverpool – third away kit (2013/14)

The only one of the modern Premier League era to make this list was Liverpool’s monstrosity in 2013/14.
The top had a black base, with large chunks of purple and white. It was inspired by a previous design from 1995/96.
2. Manchester United away (1995-96)
This is the same jersey Alex Ferguson once ordered Manchester United to drop because it blended in with the fans.
And while it’s not the worst Premier League kit ever, it’s by no means the prettiest either.

Not even a certain Ruud Gullit could cover this one up.
Chelsea’s mixture of grey and orange was baffling to any fan. Perhaps making it worse was the logo of American beer maker, Coors.
