Marc Ter Stegen has faced some of the world’s best strikers and shocked fans after disclosing which one gave him the largest amount of trouble.

It is not Ronaldo. It is not Lewandowski. Not even Salah or Hazard. Ter Stegen was asked by a fan who had given him more problems on the pitch. The goalkeeper‘s response featured a player he’s faced many times before.

“There’s a great player that has always been very difficult for me because he has a good ‘feeling’ when he’s in the box. It is Aduriz,” referring to Athletic Bilbao’s legend. “And well, there are others that are very good. But I never get nervous around strikers because I’m very focused on what I have to do.”

Aritz Aduriz spent most of his career playing for his boyhood club Athletic Club Bilbao. Moreover, the striker holds second place on the club’s list of all-time top scorers, with 172 goals in 407 matches.

The Basque footballer recently retired from professional football for medical reasons. The 39-year-old had hip-replacement surgery and missed his chance to end his career on a high note. However, it seems his former co-workers haven’t forgotten the brilliance he brought upon the football field.
