The injury-hit Red Devils appear set for a welcome boost ahead of their Champions League match against FC Copenhagen.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has announced that Sergio Reguilon might return to face FC Copenhagen in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old defender has missed up to a month of action. He first suffered a hamstring in the 1-0 win at Burnley on September 23. He then fell ill last week, which caused him to miss Saturday’s 2-1 win over Sheffield United.
Yet, Reguilon is back in training, and he is eyeing a spot in the team for Tuesday.
“Sergio, he got ill for Saturday but he was fit, he trained all week last week,” Ten Hag said at a press conference on Monday.
“Yesterday he was, for a part, back in training, today he will train and we have to assess if he is ready and game fit if he can be involved in the squad. We have to wait for that.
“We have to see if he is fit enough to be part of the squad for tomorrow.”
Reguilon has made three appearances for Manchester United in all competitions since joining the club on loan from Tottenham.
The Red Devils will hope to have him back, with several players still out. These include Casemiro, Jadon Sancho, Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
