We bring you the player ratings of this crucial match between Switzerland and Spain in the UEFA Nations League at St. Jakob-Park.

It was an embarrassing night for the Spaniards, especially for Sergio Ramos who missed two spot-kicks from 6-yard. Spain missed the first spot in the table to Germany after drawing 1-1 with Switzerland in the Nations League tussle. La Roja under Luis Enrique looked confident on paper as they stepped up for this challenge at St. Jakob-Park away from home. However, captain Ramos dramatically missed two golden opportunities to win it over the 10-man Switzerland.

The hosts received early pressure from the visitors, though in the 26th minute, Rossocrociati took the first charge of the game. Atalanta midfielder Remo Freuler finished off an excellent chance that started in great shape from Yann Sommer. Breel Embolo crossed the ball from the edge of the box for the 28-year-old, who was confident enough to try his luck against the Spanish debutant Unai Simon.

Moreno saves the Spaniards from humiliation.

The second half seemed to slip away from Switzerland, as Spain started to find their way back in the match. Although, Sommer made an extreme save to deny Ramos from the penalty spot in the 57th minute. But the Real Madrid center-back received another chance late in the second half to rectify his first error. Nico Elvedi committed a reckless tackle on Adama Traore who came off the bench to mend things for the West Europeans.

But Ramos squandered his second attempt and the Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper kept the lead intact for the Swiss. It took extensive efforts for Spain to get the leveler in the 89th minute. A crucial change aided Enrique’s side to save two points against the sturdy locals. Gerard Moreno stepped in from the sidelines to rescue his team with his equalizer. The Villareal striker netted home Sergio Reguilon’s cross past Sommer.
