Manchester City defeated Swindon Town 4-1 in their FA Cup game on Friday. The Citizens claimed their seventh win in a row by beating the League Two outfit.

Palmer steals the show!

Manchester City started the game by quickly establishing their dominance. It did not take too long for the Citizens to find their feet in the Country Ground.

Bernardo Silva opened the scoring for Man City in the 14th minute. However, the Citizens were keen to kill the game off before the interval. Following a defensive blunder from the hosts, Gabriel Jesus doubled City’s lead just before the half-hour mark.

Ilkay Gundogan scored a fantastic free-kick to make it 3-0 for Man City in the 59th minute. Following the third goal, the Citizens showed significantly less hunger to score more goals. Swindon punished them quickly as they got one back in the 78th minute.

The Citizens then pushed to regain their three-goal lead and managed to do so within a few minutes. Cole Palmer smashed Silva’s blocked shot into the back of the net in the 82nd minute, completing his brilliant performance.

Manchester City will now prepare to face Chelsea in a crucial Premier League game on Saturday. On the other hand, Swindon Town will return to League Two to meet Mansfield Town.
