Barcelona striker Luis Suarez flies to Italy to attend his passport exam on Thursday afternoon and is expected to play for Juventus soon.

According to ESPN, FC Barcelona number nine Luis Suarez flew to Italy for a test which will grant him an Italian passport to play for Juventus.

The Uruguay international reportedly left Barcelona’s El Prat airport on Thursday afternoon. He will attend the test in Perugia, Italy.

Barca’s new manager, Ronald Koeman awaits the final decision on Suarez. His exit means that there will be a change in the squad for the Dutch boss.

Suarez has been linked to the Serie A champions for a while now and as per ESPN, he has agreed on contracts with Juventus and is required to get Italian citizenship.

The Uruguayan wants Barca to pay him for the remainder of his contract. Although, the Catalan club has refused to accept his wishes so far.

Barcelona played their elite club friendly game against Girona on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Suarez was excluded by Koeman as Barca won the game 3-1 with an absolute stunner from Leo Messi.

“We are waiting to see if he goes or not, we still don’t know,” Ronald said following Barca’s victory. “We respect all contracts here and, if he ends up staying, he will be part of the squad.”

The Suarez-Dzeko story continues for Juve. Not long ago, the Italian club took out their interest from the Uruguay international and focused on buying Edin Dzeko. There is no official statement as of yet.

Things can fall in place for Suarez as his wife Sofia holds an Italian passport. He is set to take an exam to obtain citizenship which will test his understanding of Italian culture.

Suarez traveled to Perugia on Thursday after attending the training session in the morning.
