The steward knocked out by Cristiano Ronaldo’s wayward warm-up shot revealed how the sight of the Manchester United star made her headache vanish.

Marisa Nobile, the match steward hit on the head by Cristiano Ronaldo’s warm-up shot on Tuesday, revealed she feared the worst.

During a warm-up before Manchester United’s 2-1 Champions League defeat to BSC Young Boys in Switzerland, Ronaldo fired a shot that saw the ball whistle past the goal and straight into Nobile’s head.

CR7 immediately headed over to Nobile, as medics attended to her, to check she was fine and to apologize for the incident. He later gave the steward his shirt, a gesture she clearly appreciated.

Nobile recalls her experience

Speaking to the Swiss-based German outlet, Blick, Nobile recalled how she feared death until she saw Ronaldo had come to check on her.

“When the ball hit me on my head, it was a full strike!” she said.

“I was gone in my head and went to the ground. Afterward, I saw Ronaldo above me! Me: ‘Oh my god no, did I die?’

“Ronaldo said: ‘No, no. Excuse me! What’s happening? Are you alright?’ I was in great pain. My God. I was more or less ballaballa! But then I saw Ronaldo, and the headache was gone.”
