Despite the protests and pressure for selling the club, Stan and Josh Kroenke just offered an update on the offer to buy Arsenal.
Arsenal is currently a club in a deep crisis that Josh and Stan Kroenke are responsible for. Both businessmen decided that becoming part of the European Nations League was a good idea but they never asked the fans what they wanted. Given that they are the owners of the club, they feel entitled to do whatever they want with the club. But the fans responded in style through massive protests outside of Emirates Stadium and a major part of North London.
This prompted an initiative to buy the club from Spotify CEO Daniel Ek, who is a confessed Arsenal fan since he was a child. Some of the club’s biggest legends joined Ek in the possible takeover to make a proper offer to buy the club. But the Kroenke family won’t let this happen so easily, we told you they wouldn’t sell the club just like that.
How much would Arsenal cost?
Stan Kroenke made an initial investment of €1,4 billion to buy Arsenal when he took completely over the Gunners. Any offer that comes above that would mean a massive profit for the American businessman. According to sources who are close to Ek, he would be willing to offer around €3 billion to buy the North London club. But the Kroenke family is not willing to sell just yet.
In fact, BBC Sport just picked up a statement from Stan that the supporters won’t like when they read it: “We have not received any offer and we will not entertain any offer,” the Gunners owners said. “Our ambition for Arsenal remains to compete to win the biggest trophies in the game and our focus remains on improving our competitiveness on the pitch to achieve this.”
