The Tottenham manager has provided an injury update on his South Korean star, who limped off in the first half of the north London derby.
Jose Mourinho has confirmed a muscular injury for Son Heung-min in what comes as a huge blow for Tottenham.
Son required on-the-pitch medical treatment after picking up what appeared to be a hamstring problem. Unable to continue, he was then replaced by Erik Lamela inside the first 20 minutes of the crunch clash at the Emirates.
Injury to a player who has 21 goal contributions in 28 Premier League games this season, obviously, immediately proved costly for Spurs as they suffered a 2-1 loss.
Mourinho was unable to mention how long his star man will stay sidelined as waits to be aware of the severity of Son’s problem.
“That’s football, I don’t know how long it is. Is muscular. Muscular is always not easy,” Mourinho told post-match, via Football London.
“He’s a guy that normally he recovers very very well from any kind of injury.
“That’s football, that’s accumulation of matches. In Europa League I gave him 30 minutes rest, so 90 minus 30 is 60, but 60 is still 60.
“When you are in so many competitions, some players have more minutes than others, which is normal. That’s something that can happen.”
