Ronaldo’s mother got a cheeky message over a possible transfer back to Sporting CP after she was seen cheering for the club.
Bruno Tabata joked about Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Sporting CP after videos of his mother, Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro, cheering for the club emerged on social media.
Maria Dolores posted videos of herself celebrating Sporting’s 1-0 win over Tondela in the Primeira Liga on Saturday on Instagram Stories. She did so in a room full of Ronaldo’s old Manchester United and Portugal jerseys.

The 66-year-old is a keen follower of Sporting and sometimes uploads posts on Instagram wishing the club luck ahead of games.
So if her famous son Ronaldo was to leave Juventus and return to Portugal, his boyhood club would be his only option.
Signing the five-time Ballon d’Or winner would be a dream coup for Sporting and arguably the biggest in Portuguese football history.
But CR7 or not, Tabata joked Ronaldo still has to ask permission to take his number seven jersey.
“Calm down Mrs Dolores, Ronaldo still needs to ask me for the No. 7 [shirt],” the midfielder wrote on Twitter.
Speculation that Ronaldo returning to Sporting to finish his career, fuelled partly by his mother posting videos celebrating Sporting's wins with Cristiano's SCP shirt. As noted by Portuguese football writer Tom Kundert, Tabata’s innocent tweet left people gossiping.
Regardless, though, Cristiano remains committed to helping Juventus and is now focused on Sunday’s trip to Cagliari in Serie A.
