Emmanuel Gyasi scored a brace against Parma and previewed Spezia’s next Serie A clash with Juventus.

Spezia’s star striker Emmanuel Gyasi was a late bloomer when it comes to football. The 27-year-old Ghanaian-Italian player has been playing at Spezia for three seasons, a club that reached Serie A this season. Gyasi has been an important piece of this Italian side, scoring five goals and netting four assists this season.

In fact, Gyasi was the star of the show this Saturday against Parma. Spezia were able to prevent their second defeat in a row as the striker scored a brace for the Aquilotti.

“In the second half we entered with the right spirit, and we have brought home a fundamental point,” said Gyasi. “I’m happy because I always try to give my best for this shirt. I try to be useful to the team and we have to keep the high pressure because there’s still a long way to go.”

Ahead of their next clash against Juventus, Emmanuel Gyasi confessed he was eager to face one of his biggest inspirations, Cristiano Ronaldo. In fact, the 27-year-old striker’s social media profile picture shows him next to the Juventus star.

“I’m happy, for every child who plays football it is nice to face their idols. It will be a tough match for us, we will try to impose our game there too.”

Emmanuel Gyasi has spoken about Cristiano before, claiming the Portugal captain was his biggest inspiration. Additionally, the striker disclosed what Ronaldo had told him when they first met.

“For me he’s an idol because he is the number one in football. So when we played against Juventus it was very exciting because the first time you meet your idol and he comes to shake hands with you… I told him ‘for me and for other young players you are an inspiration’ and he was very happy. He told me to continue pushing and fight for my dreams, I was very very excited.”

Juventus and Spezia will face each other in Turin next Tuesday night as Gyasi will get the opportunity to step onto the pitch with Cristiano Ronaldo once again.
