Ahead of Saturday’s showdown with Poland in Euro 2020, Spain have welcomed back captain Sergio Busquets to the fold.

A negative COVID-19 test has left Sergio Busquets set to return to Spain ahead of Saturday’s Group E encounter with Poland.

The Barcelona midfielder missed Spain’s Euro 2020 opener against Sweden after testing positive for coronavirus following a 0-0 friendly draw with Portugal back on June 4 in Madrid.

But Busquets has now returned a negative result and has traveled to Seville to reunite with his teammates.

“The captain of the national team, Sergio Busquets, will join the Spain camp this Friday and will travel with the team to Seville once Covid-19 has been overcome,” read a statement.

“The Catalan has given a negative result in the result of the last PCR test and, once all the health protocols have been fulfilled, he will be able to return with the national team in the next few hours.”

Busquets will hope to mark his return by helping Spain bag their first win in Euro 2020 on Saturday.

Luis Enrique’s side were held to a 0-0 draw against Sweden in their opening match of Group E.
