After an injury forced Aymeric Laporte out of Spain’s latest World Cup qualifier, Manchester City got some positive updates on the defender.
Spain manager Luis Enrique has eased fears over Aymeric Laporte after his early exit from Sunday’s World Cup qualifier against Georgia.
Laporte came off at half-time during Spain’s 4-0 win over Georgia on Sunday night. Reports suggested the 27-year-old had a thigh problem, although Enrique has assured it is ‘nothing’.
In fact, he doesn’t expect him to undergo medical tests as his suffering was more to do with muscle fatigue. Laporte even turned up for training on Monday morning to effectively calm fears over any possible injury setback.

“Most of the changes were due to some discomfort for the players. I hope there are no serious injuries. That’s the bad news,” said Enrique as quoted on MEN.
“Aymeric has nothing, it’s just a small overload. I don’t think they’ll even test him.”
Jose Gaya, Carlos Soler, Ferran Torres and Pablo Sarabia were on target to seal a comfortable 4-0 victory for Spain.
Meanwhile, Enrique could opt to rest Laporte for Spain’s next World Cup qualifier against Kosovo on Wednesday if the French-born defender is still struggling with fatigue.
