According to a source close to Ronald Koeman, there is a 100% confirmation that the Dutch manager wants Mo Salah for FC Barcelona.

The idea of having Mohamed Salah in Barcelona was only a rumor yesterday, but Ronald Koeman’s interest is 100% legit. A source that talkSPORT pocked up today revealed it in an interview with voetbalzone.nl.

It is former Netherlands’ international and AFC Ajax legend Sjaak Swart, who has close ties to Koeman and first-hand information. According to the former player, the Barcelona manager believes the Egyptian forward is amongst the few players who can eventually cover the goal-count Messi would leave behind if he left the club.

Although the interest is confirmed, there still hasn’t been any approach from Barcelona but we might get some news in the upcoming weeks.

Mo Salah likes the idea.

During this interview, Swart spoke a little too much and gave us some idea of what’s going through Koeman’s head: “I know Koeman wants him – and I know Salah would like to go. I can’t. I am not going into any more details, but just believe me that I know,” said Swart during this interview.

We obviously wouldn’t pay any attention to this information if the source wasn’t close to the manager. However, we have no way of knowing how Swart knows that Mo Salah would like to play for Barcelona.

In recent months, the player did mention that he could eventually leave to a different club if the opportunity presented itself. We also know that the Reds wouldn’t accept less than €150 million for their star, a number that Barcelona simply can’t cover at the moment.
