After a short and embarrassing training ground clip emerged on social media, Gabriel issued an apology to Arsenal teammate Willian.
Gabriel apologized on Instagram to Willian after a training ground video emerged of him nutmegging the winger.
In a training session on Monday, the defender outwitted Willian by nutmegging his fellow Brazilian right through the middle while he tried to take the ball from him.
Gabriel later took to Instagram Stories to say sorry with a laughing emoji.
But while Willian would’ve preferred for the video to stay dead and buried in the first place, he has more pressing issues to worry about.
The former Chelsea star is yet to open his goal account since sealing a free transfer to Arsenal on a three-year deal.
“Arsenal fans have been frustrated with Willian since his arrival,” said former Chelsea keeper Rob Green on Optus Sports.
“And if you ask the Chelsea fans, they will tell you the same thing.
“Three years was the surprise. Chelsea offering him one, not sure he would have taken two, but three was a bonus.”
Arsenal head to the Czech Republic on Thursday to face Slavia Prague in the Europa League. After a 1-1 first-leg home draw, the Gunners need at least two goals and to avoid defeat to win the quarter-final.
