Due to the club’s recent improvement, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed his take on the players’ shift in mentality at Manchester United.
Manchester United has made a massive improvement in the current season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. They are currently second in the Premier League with one less match played and Liverpool is in a dire situation with injuries. The table is set for the Red Devils to take over the top position in the Premier League this weekend. But this change in results didn’t come overnight for the English squad.
The club’s board has been patient with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the results are finally starting to show. A manager who trusts all his players and has seen how their mentality has evolved over the past months. There are some specific players who are helping to bring about this change as the season progresses. Having stars who already won many trophies is one of the main reasons United has improved so much.
Solskjaer is thrilled with the team’s improvement.
When asked if he noticed this shift in mentality, Ole said via Sky Sports: “Yes, definitely. One, they’re two years older than when I came. Two, the strong personalities we’ve brought in, they’ve really been a good influence. I think we have competition for places, which means you cannot go around and think you can fake your way through being part of this team. You only deserve to be in a team that you contribute in.
“I believe everyone’s just realized we’re privileged to be part of Man United – such a fantastic club and fantastic history. When you’re here, enjoy it as much as you can and maybe you’ll experience some fantastic times. And you’ve got winners like Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic, who don’t play every single game, but they’re so influential in the build-up to games, and even during games when they’re not playing.”
