Ole Gunnar Solskjaer suggests Manchester United were a victim of their own poor finishing in the match against Sevilla.

It was a bitter farewell to the 2019/20 season for Manchester United as they were knocked out of the Europa League.

Man United were lackadaisical on the attacking front last night, apparent from the fact that they took 20 shots out of which only 7 were on target and none breached the opponents’ defense.

Ultimately the failure to make use of so many chances came back to haunt them as they ended up conceding two goals from Sevilla and losing the tie.

Sunday night market the Red Devils’s third semi-final elimination this season, having also exited the FA Cup and EFL Cup at the same stage.

And Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was deprived of yet another opportunity to win his first silverware as United manager, feels his attackers could have done better in the match.

“It’s one of them that if you take your chances you win comfortably,” Solskjaer told BT Sport after the match.

“We had moments and spells in both halves where we should have, could have, scored quite a few. But when you don’t take them it’s going to be hard.

“The keeper’s had a fantastic game. Of course, it’s disappointing we don’t score because we know we’ve got players who’ve got that quality, but then again, that’s the game.”
