CR7 has long carried the label of the world’s best player, but many are arguing that that label now belongs to a certain Egyptian.

In the duel between Cristiano Ronaldo vs Mohamed Salah, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s vote goes to the former as the Manchester United manager insists he’ll “always back Cristiano in any competition.”

Ronaldo continues to find the back of the net with ease on his return to England, having scored six goals in nine games across all competitions so far in 2021-22.

Salah, meanwhile, has been in sensational form this season, with an impressive 12 goals and four assists recorded from 11 matches.

The two superstars are set to go against each other on Sunday. Liverpool go into the Premier League contest at Old Trafford as favorites as they have form on their side. Manchester United have been rather unconvincing lately, but they have also put on display at times their great fighting spirit.

“I’ll always back Cristiano in any competition,” said Solskjaer when asked at his pre-match press conference who among the two players is better on current form.

“He’s unique. His goalscoring record is incredible and he just keeps on scoring.

“That being said, Salah, at the moment, he’s on fire. You see some of the goals he’s scored lately. We know we have to be at our best to defend against him.

“You know, players like this don’t come around very often and we have to enjoy them from afar, not on Sunday, that’s too close for me.”
