The Red Devils defender had to be withdrawn against Watford after being involved in an unfortunate collision with Henderson.

Eric Bailly didn’t suffer a concussion, says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who stated the Manchester United center-back’s injury is to do with his neck rather than the head.

A collision with goalkeeper Dean Henderson forced Bailly to be replaced by Harry Maguire shortly before half-time in United’s FA Cup third-round clash against Watford on Saturday, which they won 1-0.

After Henderson crashed into him, Bailly received medical treatment on the pitch and appeared to be suffering lingering effects from the incident. Therefore, Solskjaer called up Maguire to replace him.

“There was no concussion,” revealed the Red Devils boss during his post-match conference at Old Trafford.

“Apparently it was his neck, a sore neck, but he couldn’t carry on so let’s check on him tomorrow.”

Bailly, who is set to undergo scans on Sunday, took to social media to assure United fans he was fine after the incident.

The former Villarreal defender has had more than his fair share of injury setbacks since his €38m arrival in 2016, limiting him to just 94 appearances in all competitions. But he has impressed recently, prompting the likes of Rio Ferdinand to tip him as the perfect partner for Maguire in defense.
